- White truffles:
These truffles are only found in forests of Northern Italy and are usually harvested during winter. White truffles are extremely hard to cultivate, hence, fetching a steep price of US$3,000 to US$5,000 per pound.
Since saffron is common in India, I’m sure most of us have tried it and also know its value. In every household mothers and grandmom’s always used to lock away saffron in some tiny miny box for use during religious or luxurious event.
It costs an estimated US$3,000 for just one kilogram. It comes from the Crocus Saffron plant which blooms only once a year.
