Delhi Police issues alert over Pathankot-style terror attack

On Friday 22 January 2016, Delhi Police have recently issued an alert, after the dead body of the driver of a taxi hired by three unidentified persons from Pathankot was found in Kangra district (Himachal Pradesh).

The Security in the national capital has been amplified after an alert was sounded by intelligence agencies following the attack at the Pathankot Air Base.

The Delhi police told that the taxi driver’s body was found on Wednesday and his taxi is still missing. Police tweeted:

B.S. Bassi , the Commissioner of Delhi Police have recently urged the people in the city to remain alert without disclosing any further details citing security concerns.

Reportedly, the alert was issued in the backdrop of the recent  terror attack on Pathankot’s  IAF base, where six militants had first killed a cab driver and robbed his car before launching the assault which left seven security officials dead which shook the whole nation.

Moreover, In wake of the heightened terror threat ahead of Republic Day, the Police is conducting back-to-back mock security drills in the city.

Delhi Police has also been approaching various media houses spreading the alert message through retweets and possibly helping it find the vehicle.
