Farmer commits suicide, right in front of the on-going AAP rally

A troubled farmer from Rajasthan, on Wednesday (22nd Apr) committed suicide in the presence of a large audience including the Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal. The incident took place at the on-going AAP rally at Jantar-Mantar that was organized to raise voice against the Centre’s land acquisition ordinance.

The farmer named Gajendra Singh left a suicide note in which he had claimed he was disowned by his father after the family suffered huge crop loss due to unseasonal rains.
The most unfortunate part being the ignorance by the Delhi CM as well as the present police force, that limited themselves with the designated responsibilities ignoring this critical situation. It is big shame on our country and its leaders!!

Post this incident; AAP spokesperson blamed the Delhi Police saying, “Police did not listen to our request. Police is trained for such situations. Police officials could have avoided the tragic incident.” He also demanded an inquiry against Delhi Police. Whereas the Delhi police say AAP workers obstructed them and prevented police from bringing down the body. On the other hand, both BJP and Congress are protesting against the AAP demanding action against the rally organizers.
A BJP spokesperson claimed, “You continued your rally for 45 minutes even after the death of the farmer. You did not stop your rally. This is a motivated murder and everybody responsible in this case should be booked under charges of murder,”
At the end, how much ever we try putting the blame on the other side, the truth is that we have lost a life which could have been avoided. It brings out just one question in my mind: Was there nothing that could have been done to avoid the situation? What do you guys think, we as a nation could have done or can do in the future to stop such a state?
