Now a days there is a constant surge to bat for our roots by exploring the ancient Indian scriptures and some specific incidents relating to really significant and socially relevant issues. One such news piece comes to light a few days ago when Uttarakhand Government has sanctioned a project worth Rupees 25 crores to find the rare “Sanjeevani Booti” or miracle herb in Dronagiri Himalayan Range In Himalayas.
“Sanjeevani Booti” was mentioned in the Ramayana when Laxman the younger brother of Lord Ram fell unconscious after the fierce battle with Meghnath and could not be revived after many attempts hence he was prescribed “Sanjeevani Booti” to regain the lost consciousness of Laxman as a last resort.
At that point of time Lord Hanuman straightaway flew towards Himalayas to fetch that miraculous Herb and in the course of the events afterwards he found it difficult to recognize this wonder herb. Eventually Lord Hanuman had taken up the entire mountain in his hand and got back to Lanka.
Laxman was revived afterwards with the help of “Sanjeevani Booti” and this whole turn of events depicts the significance and utility of this herb.
Getting back to the current update of events surrounding this interesting and intriguing topic, the department of Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Sidha and Homeopathy in Uttarakhand has formed the committee to do the further research work in this field with immense possibilities but still shrouded under the clout of mystery.
As per the reports the Surinder Singh Negi the Ayush Minister of state of Uttarakhand has said:
“We will work on the research project on our own. Globally the herb market is booming and we intend to identify the epic plant having life saving qualities.”
Whole lot of hunting has been going on for this amazing plant with superficial medicinal properties Sanjeevani for thousands of years by our sages but this is the most elusive discovery till now but such a magnanimous project hasn’t been taken up by authorities of the state ever. so we can certainly expecting some really positive results in this direction, if this project is materialised then it will be a great service to mankind in the future in dealing with some deadly diseases.
