In response, India also started with a bang as opening duo, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma added 65-runs within first eight overs. But even after losing Sharma’s wicket, Kohli and Dhawan went on to stitch a 212-runs partnership for the 2nd wicket and took India to 277 in 37th over. Both batsmen went on to score centuries and put India in position for their first victory.

However, the table turned for Aussies when John Hastings picked up the priced wicket of Dhawan when he was at 126 and from there on the Indian side kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were all out without even reaching the 50th over.

Kane Richardson splattered the Indian batting order as the rookie speedster finished off with a sounding spell of 5/68 in his ten overs.

With their fourth consecutive defeat in the series, team India is now trailing 4-0 in the series and are on the verge of facing a white wash.
