On Friday (5 Feb ’16), The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), announced the 15-member Indian squad for Asia Cup and the ICC World T20 tournaments.
Veteran Batsman Yuvraj Singh made a rejoicing return to the Indian squad in addition to Pawan Negi, a left-arm spinner who was also included in the three T20I series against Sri Lanka.
Moreover, Bengal pacer Mohammed Shami also made a comeback in the squad while Ajinkya Rahane, who was said to be in race for the seventh specialist batsman along with Manish Pandey, has been selected for the squad instead Pandey.
Youngster Jasprit Bumrah, has also earned a place in the squad after the brilliant performance in Australian series, while Ashish Nehra and Harbhajan has also been included in the side.

MS Dhoni (Captain), Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravindra Jadeja, H Pandya, R Ashwin, Harbhajan Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Ashish Nehra, Pawan Negi, Mohammed Shami.
Team India is scheduled to play a three-match T20 series at home against Sri Lanka from February 9, ahead of the multi-nation T20 mega-events.
Moreover, the Asia Cup will be held from February 24 to March 6. The event is being played in the T20 format, in a change from the earlier 50-over competitions.
India will take on hosts Bangladesh in the tournament opener at Mirpur, followed by the mega-matches against arch-rivals Pakistan on Feb 27 and Sri Lanka on March 1st and the qualifying team on Mar 3.
World Twenty20 championship, commencing on March 8th, India have been seeded in the Super 10 and will compete with the Kiwis, in their opening game on March 15 at Nagpur’s VCA Stadium in Jamtha.
