Sasha Obama, daughter of US President Barack Obama, has swapped the comforts of the White House for the cash counter of a seafood restaurant. This just re-iterates the point that no job is meager and no position is permanent!
Although Sasha, 15, has been accompanied to the restaurant by a contingent of six secret service agents but she performed all her duties without any political influence or tantrums.
This is straight in line with the way Obama’s want to bring up their daughters in a normal middle class family atmosphere. According to the First Lady Michelle Obama, this is about trying to bring her two daughters up as normally as possible.
Elder daughter Malia, 18, also interned at two movie sets before applying for the Harvard University. But she is currently taking a gap of a year, after the acceptance by the University, as the family prepares to transition from White house to normal public life.
In conversation to Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama, opened up her heart to express:
‘So you remember Malia and Sasha were little itty-bitties when we came into office. I mean, it still moves me to tears to think about the first day I put them in the car with their Secret Service agents to go to their first day of school. And I saw them leaving, and I thought, “What on earth am I doing to these babies?” the First Lady said to Winfrey.
‘So I knew right then and there my first job was to make sure they were going to be whole and normal and cared for in the midst of all this craziness. And then I started to understand that if I was going to protect them, I had to, number one, protect myself and protect my time.’
This is so inspiring for all of us, who try to put labels on certain jobs and tasks; and usually use the family backgrounds to influence the employer. But it is only by getting an actual taste of ground, that you can value the journey of your success.
Social media is all praises for Young Obama
