India is all ready to welcome Japanese PM Shinzo Abe, who is on a 3 day visit to the country.
The two PMs are expected to review the execution of the decisions taken over the former year to enhance the economic relationship in trade and investment, and to boost strategic ties.
PM Modi will escort his Japanese counterpart for “Ganga Arti” at Varanasi.
After the formal summit,which is scheduled to be held on Saturday 2nd December 2015, PM Modi will accompany Japanese PM Shinzo Abe to Varanasi where a grand welcome will be held for both.
The two PMs had signed an “Partner City Agreement” between Kyoto and Varanasi when Indian PM visited Japan in August last year.
On Modi’s Japan visit, Mr Abe had accompanied the Indian PM on his tour of the ancient city of Kyoto.
Developing the holy city of Varanasi as a “smart city” is one of the key agenda of the agreement.
Both Modi and Abe are due to watch the divine “Ganga aarti” from a floating stage specially erected by Army officials for the mega event.
Preparations On the banks of Ganga:
Preparations have been going on in the holy city on the banks of the Ganga at fever pitch to honor its VIP visitors.
More than 12,000 LED lights have been lodged all across Varanasi to give it a sparkling look on the occasion.
The Allahabad High Court on Thursday 10 December 2015, also granted permission for installation of music system at ‘Dashashwamedh Ghat‘ in Varanasi.
Heavy security arrangements have been made ahead of the occasion.
A team of Central Paramilitary Forces have been deployed to keep the security in check.
