Digital India is synonymous with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision; so how can our Honorable President Mr. Pranab Mukherjee be left behind in the endeavor of Digitization and Up-gradation of the ‘Presidential Estate’ including “Rashtrapati Bhavan”.

The sprawling 330 acres of ‘Presidential Estate’ is a home to nearly 5,000 people so it is just like a Mini township. For the transformation of this Mini township into a digital and smart township IBM Smart City Solutions have been assigned this prestigious project for making it a successful smart city model project to be earnestly followed in the whole country.

The intelligent operations center has been established by IBM in the Premise of Rashtrapati Bhavan to co-ordinate and efficient management of four main aspects of township digitization and up-gradation for converting it into a ‘Smart City’.

These four aspects of any smart City are :-

  1. Water supply and its storage to plug any leaks and gaps by digital mapping of all the pipeline to find suitable solutions as per data analysis for optimum utilization of this already scarce resource.
  2. Security of any smart township have to be digitized and well-coordinated with the help of sophisticated and advance security systems.
  3. Electrical infrastructure have to be managed to ensure minimum wastage and maximum efficiency by analyzing the usage pattern with the help of existing data and applying energy conservation techniques
  4. Solid waste management is another important aspect of a Smart township which takes care of the disposal of solid waste in the eco-friendly manner to reduce the further burden of Environment.
