Why is it really Important to pursue a Hobby?

In routined lives, we are often stressed from work, or surrounded by family quarrels and other tensions. As a result, ‘pursuing a passion’ takes a back seat. But here, we’d like to share with you the importance of pursuing a hobby and some creative options that you can pick up from:

It’s easy to work all day, come home and plant yourself in front of the TV. But nurturing your interests and even making goals for the things you like to do in spare time, can been really rewarding.

As quoted by Virginia Wolf, an English author and journalist:

If you are loosing your leisure, look out — It may be you are loosing your soul.

Another one from Hari Jaisingh, former editor, Indian Express believes:

More than leisure utilisation, a Healthy Hobby helps to build sound mental faculties. It saves society from the onslaught of negativism.

In my words, It’s just one life and you gotta make most of it. You don’t want regret in the future, for not doing something that’s so dear to your heart!

So pick up a passion, it can be anything that makes you feel good and happy about life. And do it, no matter what. Take out time for yourself, it’s your life too!

Ballroom dancing is one of the most graceful form of self-expression through movement. But you don’t need to have professional aspirations to enjoy ballroom dancing. Classes and social dancing are both great ways to participate in the ballroom world as a beginner.

Blogging is a great way to express your thoughts, share your expertise on a subject, or find an audience to connect with. You can start with just day to day experiences or your strong opinion on particular subject. In the long run, it can even become a good source of earning.

Be a mentor:

You may have a skill that could make a difference in someone else’s life. Many privileged children need role models and many adults need tutoring, skill-building, or advice.

Explore Surroundings:

You need not always go on a big budget trip to explore the World. It can be your hobby to explore new places by going on a casual walk to new areas or go on weekend long drives, take a bus tour or share a ride with friends and witness the beauty of every different place in a new way!

Painting/Art & Craft:

It’s a great way to express yourself through building up a work of art. It need not be perfect for an exhibition. Just try to unwind yourself, by picking up colors to paint a canvas while listening to relaxing music. I personally enjoy this a lot!

These are just a few of the options listed over here. But you are the best judge of what you like and how you like it. Start by picking up an option and giving it a try. If you don’t enjoy jump on the next one, atleast in the journey you will know yourself better! 🙂
