Australia’s veteran leg spinner, Shane warne, best known for hoodwinking his opponents during his cricketing days, came off second best in a straight fight with a snake in a Australian reality TV show.
46 year old, Warne was bitten on the head by a non-venomous anaconda during a “Tucker Trial” on the Australian version of the show “I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.”
Regarded as the best spin bowlers of all time, Shane Warne is the second highest wicket taker in Test cricket history with 708 victims to his name.
Shane Warne had already plunged his head into tanks full of- rats, African clawed frogs, scorpions, and hissing cockroaches trying to secure food for the show’s participants before he was confronted with snakes, which are reportedly the biggest fear of the Aussie Cricket star.
According to sources, Shane Warne carried on with the task before being treated with antiseptic by medical authorities.
Here’s the video of cricket legend Shane Warne, getting bit by the snake :
Stephen Tate, show’s executive producer said:
“Shane has made no secret that snakes are one of his greatest fears so it’s amazing that after being bitten he bravely continued with the trial.
“When Shane puts his mind to a task, he won’t let anything stop him.”
A Network Ten spokesperson told :
“The box contained anacondas, rat snakes and corn snakes. The juvenile anaconda is the one that actually struck Shane. It’s non-venomous but very aggressive. Anacondas have 100 rear-facing teeth. Being bitten by one is like getting 100 hypodermic needles at once”
According to sources, Shane Warne, who was engaged to English actress Elizabeth Hurley before they split up in the year 2013, is being paid an estimated $2.1 million to appear in the show.
